We are pleased to announce our participation in a funding round to back Novavet, a fast-growing platform founded in 2021 that federates independent veterinary clinics across France.
Backed by a minority investment from Alpera Partners, NovaVet is set to accelerate its mission of creating a nationwide veterinary care group under a long-term, partnership-based model.
What Novavet Does
NovaVet acquires majority stakes in local veterinary practices, while ensuring:
- Medical autonomy – existing teams continue caring for their patients independently.
- Operational excellence – clinics gain access to shared best practices, training, and support.
- Partnership ethos – built around trust, long-term collaboration, and reinvestment opportunities for veterinarians.
‍
Why It Matters
Veterinary medicine in France is highly fragmented, with thousands of small clinics facing growing complexity: rising costs, staff shortages, and increasing demand for advanced care. Many practices are run by dedicated teams who want to keep their medical independence while gaining access to better tools, training, and resources.
NovaVet was founded to bring these independent clinics together, preserving their autonomy while helping them grow sustainably. Its mission: build a leading veterinary care group in France that combines medical excellence with the benefits of scale.
Backed for the Long Term
With Alpera Partners’ support, Novavet is positioned to consolidate a fragmented sector and strengthen the resilience of veterinary care in France. The model is designed for the long run: maintaining local identities while enhancing quality of care, staff development, and clinic profitability.
Looking Ahead
NovaVet’s strategy is clear:
- Federate independent veterinary clinics across France.
- Preserve medical independence while providing shared resources and growth capital.
- Elevate standards of care through training, technology, and collaboration.
- Build a national champion in veterinary services, rooted in partnership and sustainability.
‍
Thanks to this funding round, Novavet and Alpera aim to ensure that France’s veterinarians have the autonomy, resources, and stability they need to thrive in a growing market where veterinarians expect better working environments to focus on providing care, not admin tasks.
